Cold tea really helps sweet itch. Put old tea bags in a jam jar (or similar) of water and spray it onto your horse. DO make sure you just use the tea and water, DON'T use tea that has milk or sugar in as this will attract flies and midges, not the idea! Cheap easy effective - what more can you ask...
