Animal Reiki
for Cats, Dogs, Horses (Equines), Rabbits and Other Pets
by Gina McCulloch D.C., IVCA, IEBWA
What is it?
Reiki means ‘universal life energy’. During a Reiki for cats, dogs, horses (equines) and other animals treatment, this energy is channelled through the practitioner to and within your pet.
This balances your pet’s energy flow, providing them with drugless pain relief and promotes healing and good health.
Treatments can be given by the practitioner actually touching your pet or from a distance.
It is often referred to as an alternative, integrative, complementary, natural and / or holistic medicine for cats, dogs, horses (equines) rabbits and other animals and pets.
How does it work?
The practitioner channels universal life energy to and within your pet to harmonise their energy flow. By removing energetic blockages, balance is restored, which promotes the body’s natural healing ability and general good health.
Treatments are relaxing, inducing a sense of well being and pets (e.g. cats, dogs, horses, rabbits etc.) often fall asleep.
What can it help?
There is evidence based research and/or anecdotal evidence that Animal Reiki has helped cats, dogs, horses (equines), rabbits and other pets with:
- Anxiety
- Emotional upset (helps with shock/loss of a friend, life transitions)
- Pain relief
- Physically (helps decrease physical pain and illness)
- Relaxation
- Spiritually (helps your pet feel more spiritually connected)
- Stress
- Tension
